  1. Should of had him dress up as one of the StormTroopers, and when time came he’d just take off the helmet.

  2. Aww, their reactions are so cute! Star Wars has the best fans of any fandom ever, hands down.

  3. “One of First black character”? Lando, Mace, Captain Panaka, Jar Jar, Captain Typho, Roth-Del Mesona, Saw Gerrara, Steela, and Senator Pamlo. Finn came after all of these people.

If Oscar Isaac wasn’t Caucasian by being half French and Hispanic, I would say Disney/Lucasfilm hates white men. One too many British women already.

  4. disney really did strike gold with john and daisy.. both are really likable and really great in the movies.. i couldnt be happier with my 2 new favorite heroes.

  5. Uhm, that joke is as old as Star Wars. I was a kid back then and it was a joke that went through my primary school. When I was 7.

  6. I don’t know if you already read the comics or books, but give them a chance, there’s pretty cool stuff.

  7. Yeah, I think that’s why Mark keeps calling him son. He saw a lot of himself in him haha

  8. chilly22 They’re both rushed and really inlikeable imo, nothing against the actors just not a fan of their roles.

  9. I wanted BB-8 to burn him with a thumbs up. I thought Star Wars fans and nerds in general were far more evolved than that…for shame….lol.

  10. No, no. Mark calls her his daugh…then doesn’t say anymore so fans won’t catch his spoilers lol.

  11. At least he actually knew how and wasn’t as cringey to look at like some things celebrities do.

  12. echo 5 Even in the stressfull moments or sad moments in TFA he made me laugh for some reason

  13. “Nope they’re either old or evil now.” I guess Ezra, Kanan, Poe Dameron, and numerous book protagonists are all evil.

  14. Mony so when did this comment chain turn into social justice? We are not being racist for one and two: Lando was a somewhat important role so john was not the first to take a lead role

  15. Shes my niece and she was totally floored she didnt expect that at all. She was so shocked she didnt think to take a picture or ask for his autograph lol.

  16. Pandora21 It matters because it is important to people to see themselves reflected in stories. It is less about an obsession and more about a connection. Not to say, you cannot connect with characters who look different than you – we do all the time. But to see yourself as a doctor when maybe where you are people are saying you cannot or you shouldn’t. Or to see yourself traveling space emphasizes that your race or gender is just as important, just as worthy of being part of stories that mean so much to people.

Apologies for getting wordy. However, I would say yes, it does matter – at least to a lot of people.
